Welcome. It takes courage to start therapy, and I truly respect you for being here. I’ve worked as a psychotherapist in the Hamilton area for 15 years, and I help individuals and couples with all kinds of life challenges. I understand that seeking support can feel daunting, and I want to assure you that I approach each client’s situation with sensitivity and a deep awareness of the difficulties they may be facing.
My approach is based on the ideas of some important therapists, like Irvin Yalom. I believe that everyone has the ability to grow and heal, and I’m here to provide a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space where we can work together. I won’t just sit quietly and listen; I’ll be actively involved in our conversations. I recognize that your experiences are unique and have shaped you in profound ways, and I am committed to understanding the complexities of your personal narrative.
I specialize in helping people who want to understand themselves better and are dealing with tough issues like trauma, dissociation, anxiety, mood, and attachment difficulties. I’m here to help you understand yourself and your relationships, explore big questions about life, and find more meaning. I know that these challenges can significantly impact your daily life, your relationships, and your overall well-being. I aim to provide a therapeutic environment where you feel truly heard and validated.
To help you on your journey, I use a variety of therapies, including CBT, EMDR, DBT, IFS, and Gottman Couples Therapy. I’ll create a therapy plan that’s tailored to your specific needs and goals. I am dedicated to working collaboratively with you to identify the most effective strategies for addressing your concerns and fostering positive change.
My goal is to help you feel hopeful that things can get better, safe and understood in our sessions, and empowered to take an active role in your personal growth. I understand that vulnerability is a crucial part of the therapeutic process, and I am here to support you every step of the way.

Yes, confidentiality is a fundamental aspect of psychotherapy. Therapists are ethically and legally bound to keep the information you share private. However, there are legal limitations to confidentiality, such as when there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or if a court order requires disclosure. These limits should be explained to you during your first session. In Ontario, the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) outlines the rules regarding the confidentiality of personal health information.
